Perak boasts a number of splendid beaches and idyllic islands such as Teluk Batik, Pulau Pangkor and Pangkor Laut.

The coastal town of Lumut serves as a gateway to these scenic escapades. Located 84km south of Ipoh, Lumut is also a naval base of the Royal Malaysian Navy. Within the town is a maritime museum while around the pier are shops selling all sorts of souvenirs and gifts made of corals and shells.

The town also has a public park and a clock tower from where one can catch a view of the open sea.
