34km from the state capital Seremban, Port Dickson boasts an 18km beach, one of the longest in the country. It is about one and a half hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. Here, tourists can indulge themselves in a host of watersports activities such as boating, waterskiing and windsurfing, just to name a few.
The Taman Aman beach not far from the Port Dickson town is a popular destination among visitors. Facilities like barbecue pits, camping ground, refreshment kiosks, car park, children’s playground and budget accommodation are all available here.
Another scenic spot is Blue Lagoon located about 11km south of the town. Blue Lagoon is an ideal site for waterskiing, windsurfing, diving and boating. Numerous chalets and condominiums are also found nearby.
Further south of Blue Lagoon is the famous Cape Rachado lighthouse erected in the 16th century during the Portuguese colonisation for the purpose of guiding merchant ships to Melaka. The lighthouse is still under the jurisdiction of Melaka state government today.
From here, tourists can take in the view of the seemingly endless beaches. If weather permits, the distant coastline of Sumatra can also be seen.
